Recent history: low-cost retirement homes
[edit]When the mine, mill and smelter closed, many homes went on the market at very reasonable prices. If my memory is accurate (dubious), most or all of the homes had been sold to employees years before. It seems like this would be a worthy addition to our article.
I used to consult with BHP, though rarely at San Manuel. But it was close enough to my 'home turf" (Tucson and Globe-Miami) that I was generally aware of what was happening there. Perhaps I'll get energetic and try to put something together with decent sourcing. Don't hold your breath! Cheers, Pete Tillman (talk) 01:49, 9 April 2023 (UTC), retired geologist.
