I am trying to find some technical information on nForce4 SLI, and would be happy if anyone could add this information to the article, if they have the information:

  • When you use 2 graphic cards in the 2 PCI-express slots, can they work like 2 separate graphic cards (work like 2 separate PCI-express ports), and will they be usable in windows for dual-desktop output? And in Linux for 2 separate X-servers? Ie. can the cards be used separateley in the way you can use several PCI graphic cards today? Or will the solution be so specific that it REQUIRES the special windows software to even work as 2 separate graphic cards (ie not SLI, but two separate gfx cards)?

I would really appreciate some technical information, and it could be useful for others also. (I have tried google a lot) Thanks in advance! / Magnus 2004-12-29

I also already tried to find the Tech specs und chipset register layout. it is needed as external link !

I've added information on the nForce4 SLI Intel Edition to this page as, even though it is quite different, NVIDIA still has given it the nForce4 name and it does share a great many features with the AMD based nForce4. -Kilroy1231 2005-06-07

enthusiast processor

[edit]

The article states: '"NVIDIA have stated that they do not consider the 820 to be an enthusiast processor, and as such will not be enabling support for it."'. What does this mean? CraigKeogh 02:58, 4 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

epox site says "it doesn't support win98 or win me." this hardware dependent on a software (win xp). I'm not sure what happens on linux. anonym user. 18 april 2006.

nForce4 chipset is fully supported in most linux distros, Ubuntu supports all of the hardware by default. Jeremyharmon 05:04, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
