Plot Synopsis

[edit]

Apart from the melancholic dialogue at the end, what actually happened in this story? --Etimbo 21:47, 3 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Haven't gotten around to it yet, since I'm working off of what recordings are available to me. Feel free to edit it - see The Curse of Fenric for a sample format. -khaosworks 22:17, 3 Jan 2005 (UTC)

New Series, BBC Wales?

[edit]

Doctor Who eventually returned to production as a continuing BBC series, produced in-house at BBC Wales, in 2004.

Is the new series *really* being produced by BBC Wales? And it's coming out in 2005.

Sounds like out of date, or false information to me. PaulHammond 21:39, 6 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Erm... No. It's quite correct. Unless you were joking of course (sometimes hard to tell on the net!). For more details see the BBC's official site or the Outpost Gallifrey fansite, amongst many, many other places online. Angmering 22:13, 6 Jan 2005 (UTC)
And to prove it, the following page on the BBC website has on the right hand side: "Who's making it?" "BBC Wales"

It's amusing to read the above exchange given what we now know. 68.146.41.232 (talk) 20:16, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thriply so, now. 209.92.200.98 (talk) 18:26, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Outside Broadcast vs. Studio video

[edit]

Would it be possible for someone to add a word or two to explain the difference? Or, if there's a link, to make a link? This is quite unclear and a little confusing because Robot (Doctor Who) was shot all on video -- was it not shot on all-OB as well? 68.146.41.232 (talk) 20:16, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cat Flap

[edit]

I haven't seen the episode, but the working title "Cat Flap" sounds like a reference to Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. --DocumentN (talk) 22:32, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lesbian Subtext

[edit]

According to the Writing section, Munro mentions there was supposed to have been a relationship between Ace and Karra.. probably given away by subtle facial expressions and the like. But that never really comes across in the story. In fact, it seemed more that Karra and Ace were siblings or friends. I believe Karra actually calls Ace her sister on at least one occasion. Mind you, there was a fair bit of context that seemed to get lost in a couple of the 7th Doctor's shows... I always thought it might be related to poor script editing or too much emphasis on being mysterious and deliberately not making sense. Curse of Fenric had a couple instances of that, as did Remembrance of the Daleks, if I'm not mistaken. Unless it was in reference to one of those rare episodes I never saw growing up, which I somehow doubt. Anyways.. I'd be interesting in knowing if anyone else ever managed to spot this supposed subtext between Ace and Karra, or if it became relevant only in the books.--68.111.242.170 (talk) 09:40, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As was mentioned on the DVD documentary, changing the cat costumes to full masks didn't help with facial expression. DonQuixote (talk) 13:31, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
