A laparotomy does not use a laparoscope. A laparoscope is used in laparoscopy. I am deleting the phrase. David Stapleton 15:56, 10 Oct 2003 (UTC)

Indeed, it is rarely used, but some authors such as E. E. Moore still favour it. On these grounds I decided to restore the sentence.--Iglesias 22:55, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

spondylolisthesis

Laparotomy can be performed for non-traumatic spondylolisthesis as well, not mentioned in this article.
