Articles on custody disputes

[edit]

As I stated in my comment on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Custodial Rape (non-sexual), I think that the various forms of misconduct often engaged in by parents with custody is a quite legitimate subject to be addressed on Wikipedia. Unfortunately, you've created three duplicative articles, none of them under a title that the average reader would think of entering to find information on the subject. This kind of thing isn't helpful. It makes people think you're a disruptive user; rightly or wrongly, it makes other users less likely to examine the substance of what you've written. Please don't try to evade the VfD process by creating any more articles. The way to accomplish your objective is to write a suitably NPOV description and to figure out where it should go (e.g. in child custody or somewhere else). JamesMLane 07:31, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Paul, I'd just like to say that I do hope your conflict is settled peacefully, and that you are able to once again be with Kameron and Micah. That said, I completely agree with James M. Lane: your attempts to make your point via Wikipedia are being done completely wrongly. DS 21:01, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Paul Marshall PhD Mrindianajones

[edit]

Paul, I am not sure it is appropriate to use the title Ph.D. here.

Your website says, "My PhD is in Religion and Biblical Studies from a private religious institution and accredited by the International Accrediting Association. I am not a Dr. or Clinical Psychologists. (sic) However I do have an extensive knowledge of neurology and Tourette Syndrome from many hours of self study and experience."

However, the DOE lists the International Accrediting Association under "Accrediting Bodies NOT Recognized by the United States Department of Education."

Degree.net lists it under "Accrediting Agencies Not Recognized Under GAAP (Generally Accepted Accrediting Practices)". They state that the address in Modesto, California for this association is the same as that of the Universal Life Church, an organization that awards Doctorates to anyone making a "donation" of less than $100. The list of courses and degrees offered by Universal Life Church shows they offer several doctorate degrees which are "accredited" (apostrophes theirs) by the International Accrediting Association, all for fees of less than $100 and involving self-study.

Your website confirms your association with the Universal Life Church. Your website links confirm that you are a handyman.

When making entries to an online encyclopedia about a medical condition, people may feel misled about the research and knowledge behind your entries if you include the PhD title. Readers may confuse you with Dr. Paul Marshall of the Center for Religious Freedom. Readers of your Tourette's Disorder website, who don't go to your personal website for the disclaimer, may confuse you with Dr. Paul Marshall of the Departments of Psychiatry and Medicine, Hennepin County Medical Center.
