Discussion

[edit]

I find it a pity that the BNCR was moved to become the NCC, since its life as the latter was much shorter than the period before (20 years as compared with 58). However, since there is a Xref from one to the other, I suppose we can live with that. Peter Shearan 12:57, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

It seems a reasonable change. The NCC existed from 1903 to 1949 and the BNCR from 1860 to 1903, so the honours are almost even with the NCC slightly ahead in the longevity stakes. Also, NCC was its final name before incorporation into the UTA and that is how the organisation as a whole seems to be remembered Geologue 08:50, 30 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Split the article?

[edit]

The article is approaching the 60Kb limit. I am thinking of splitting it into three articles, one on the B&BR, another on the BNCR and the last on the NCC. I would propose retaining short summary sections about the B&BR and BNCR in the NCC article with links to the main articles. Geologue 15:13, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment request at TWP

Great article so far, i think your best asking for a "peer review" or even going for a "good article" nomination. Pickle 15:00, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:NCCmap1932.svg

[edit]

Image:NCCmap1932.svg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Congratulations

I was contemplating revising the English Midland Railway article and I thought I would check here. This article is very thorough and well written in grown-up language, and I salute you. I see that someone wants you to do some in-line citations... that would be a prodigious task. But anyway, well done to you all. You don't need any help from me.
