List of International Airlines

[edit]

If you visit the web sites of the airlines mentioned here, many of the airlines' destinations doesn't include this particular airport. I think the list is possibly inaccurate. Thanks.

On flight radar 24 there is a azur air departing from atq Ash pelia (talk) 08:28, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Azur air was landed at ATQ as there was technical problem in aircraft and after solving the issue aircraft departed from ATQ , there is no flight to/from ATQ by Azur air 649pardeep (talk) 15:57, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

In Answer to the above

[edit]

If you go on to the websites and indeed, research the schedules for all airlines listed under the "Current Airlines & Destinations" heading, you will find Amritsar present. For example, the Singapore Airlines website clearly shows three weekly flights between Singapore-Amritsar:

FLIGHT NO: SQ446 DEPARTS: Singapore 17:40 ARRIVES: Amritsar 21:10 AIRCRAFT: Boeing 777-200

FLIGHT NO: SQ447 DEPARTS: Amritsar 22:45 ARRIVES: Singapore 07:15 AIRCRAFT: Boeing 777-200

  • Flights Operated on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

As for those ailines listed under "Possible Future Airlines and Destinations", these have all been verified with links to sources. For example, Lufthansa's Thierry Antinori has explicity said to the Indian press that Amritsar will be one of the next Indian cities the airline will serve. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.44.241.64 (talk) 20:28, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SQ446 Is for Singapore to/from Dakha only not Amritsar ATQ 649pardeep (talk) 15:59, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Flights to London and New York

[edit]

These flights are NOT direct. AI uses the same flight number for their ATQ-DEL-LHR-JFK routing, but they are not direct or same-plane services. The ATQ-DEL leg is flown on an A-320, whilst the DEL-LHR-JFK legs are flown using 77Ws. This means that passengers must change planes in DEL. Per Wikipedia rules (Wikipedia:WikiProject_Aviation), these destinations should not be listed here. Jasepl (talk) 13:05, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Converting Lakhs

[edit]

Lakhs should be converted into the universal system. RebaFan1996 (talk) 22:21, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I agree with you. --Jmumman (talk) 17:38, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ATQ

[edit]

I don't think ATQ should redirect to here, as it's an acronym with multiple uses (and Raja Sansi International Airport isn't one of them). I don't think many people are thinking of this airport when they type in ATQ. How about a disambiguation page for it? -- Charles Stover 21:01, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sri Guru Ram Das Airport http://www.sikhsangat.org/2010/11/amritsar-airport-named-after-city-founder-guru-ram-dass-ji-maharaj/ change title of article.inspector (talk) 08:27, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The official rendering appears to be "Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport" (with the honorifics sri, -ji and two S's in "Dass"), at least per [1]. Jpatokal (talk) 21:53, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New Pictures

[edit]

For the people that live nearby this airport or are planinng to visit the airport or whatsoever, please take some good quality pictures of the airport, upload them and then add them. The main article seems too wordy. --Jmumman (talk) 17:44, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Air India flight to London Heathrow

[edit]

There are a number of users with a single-purpose of adding London Heathrow to Air India's destinations. It is clear that London Stansted was and is the only scheduled flight out of ATQ which is currently not under service due to pandemic and this destination remains listed and not removed. The Heathrow flight is operated under the Vande Bharat Mission aka VBM (see this) which are basically air bubbles created upon agreement from both nations to ferry stranded citizens. These are two way flights to bring back citizens of both countries from the other one. Read this article to understand more on the VBM mission. Also giving vague reasons like this one for retaining LHR is uncalled for given that Air India has operated regular scheduled flights from DEL, BOM, AMD and BLR before the pandemic. Much like STN being retained in ATQ article, so is LHR retained in the respective articles of DEL, BOM, AMD and BLR. Much like the VBM flight from ATQ to LHR, DEL to LHR, BOM to LHR, AMD to LHR and BLR to LHR are being operated to ferry stranded citizens of both UK and India. So, in conclusion, ATQ to LHR is not a scheduled flight and should not be listed in the destinations.  LeoFrank  Talk 12:54, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The flight is now listed as a seasonal flight and the source is the Air India booking engine. Is the flight going to operate next season? and if it is a seasonal flight then there should not be an end date to it. Rzxz0839 (talk) 13:29, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Rzxz0839: Booking engines cannot be used as sources and no airline website's booking engine will mention if their flight is seasonal or year around, the flight will be either available or unavailable in the booking results. LHR is operated under VBM and most VBM flights are kind of seasonal (only on specific dates).  LeoFrank  Talk 13:56, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

.

Air India has extended the flight booking of Amritsar-London Heathrow nonstop flight till March 2021 end. Now there are few points to be noted before coming to any conclusion-

1) First and foremost, This flight started operating as early as August 2020 and now will operate in continuation till March 2021 end(as of now;extendable), which amounts to around 8 Months out of which 2 Months have passed.

Again, Unlike Repartition/Rescue flights, this flight has a particular schedule/day of travel which will remain fix till 28 March,2021. Therefore, this flight is NOT a repartiation flight because-

A) Not Repartition/Rescue flights run in continuation for as long as 8 Months. This flight will, in practice, be flying the partial Summer and Whole Winter Schedule of 2020.

B)It will fly on exact pre-scheduled days, similar to scheduled flights.

2)The schedule of repartiation flights is announced every month and these flights run on pre-designated dates mentioned in that schedule, These dates are generally random and time of flight in every date is also different. This is one of fundamental difference between scheduled flights and unscheduled flights.

3) In order to fly a repartitation flight/rescue flight, A Passenger first needs to apply in the respective Embassy/High Comission. But, however, in this particular flight which is in our conversation, any passenger can fly, just like a regular flight because IT IS a regular flight.

4) This is in response to an above message in thread by User:LeoFrank where he/she mentions 'the Vande Bharat Mission aka VBM (see this) which are basically air bubbles created'. It is notable to mention that this statement is fundamentally INCORRECT and VOID statement. The statement primary mentions Vande Bharat Mission and Air Bubbles to be inter-covertible or terms used for same flights which is NOT the case. Vande Bharat and Air Bubbles are completely CONTRASTING terms which in illustrated below-

A) VANDE BHARAT MISSION- The Indian government had launched Vande Bharat Mission, considered to be the world's largest expatriation exercise to bring back stranded Indians from foreign destinations.India suspended all scheduled international passenger flights on March 23 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Please Note that VANDE BHARAT MISSION is a REPARTIATION/RESCUE MISSION, ALL FLIGHTS operating under VANDE BHARAT MISSION are NON SCHEDULED/REPARTIATION flights.

B)AIR BUBBLES-An air bubble is a bilateral arrangement between two countries under which airlines from both countries can operate international flights with a set of regulations and restrictions. NOTE: Air Bubble is a temporary BILATERAL ARRANGEMENT between 2 countries due to Covid-19 pandemic. What it means is, right now EVERY SINGLE flight operating between any 2 countries is bound under AIR BUBBLE. Even a Delhi/Mumbai-London Air India Flight or a Bangalore-London British Airways flight is a AIR BUBBLE Flight. That DOESNT mean it is a REPARTITION/RESCUE Flights. Every SCHEDULED FLIGHT is an AIR BUBBLE FLIGHT.

Conclusion- EVERY 'VANDE BHARAT' FLIGHT IS AN 'AIR BUBBLE' FLIGHT BUT EVERY 'AIR BUBBLE' FLIGHT IS NOT AN 'VANDE BHARAT' FLIGHT Hippolocous (talk) 13:09, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Rzxz0839: @Andrewgprout: Just FYI. Please see here.
@Rzxz0839: Also, these meats/socks basically do not understand the meaning of the Vande Bharath Mission. Even if AI has extended its schedule to LHR from ATQ, it is still a VBM flight. While I do agree that any international flight operated currently is under VBM, DEL, BOM, AMD and BLR have had scheduled flights to LHR by AI pre-covid era. So this argument is vague that the entry exists in these airports and should exist here as well.
Please do keep an eye on more such socks if you come across.  LeoFrank  Talk 15:02, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Flights to Italy operated by SpiceJet

[edit]

Are SpiceJet flights to Bergamo and Rome–Fiumicino still seasonal or have become regular? Asking because both flights are still operational via Tbilisi, as of April 2023. Altoumulus (talk) 06:29, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
