Disambiguation

[edit]

Can we please consider changing the disambiguation reference from Blackburn (disambiguation) to Blackburn (the town). Anyone looking at this page will have typed in the article title directly or been referenced from a page dealing with the general election. The point is that no one will read this page in confusion as to which particular Blackburn this article is referring to.

There may possible be confusion with Blackburn in West Lothian, Scotland. This could be delt with as follows:

This article refers to the constituency of Blackburn in Lancashire. For information on the town, see Blackburn

I have now changed the disambiguation header. If you disagree or want to revert the change, please discuss it here. TreveX 19:14, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Standard boilerplates are all very well, but may not help the user in some cases if it links to a disambiguation page. Many towns return, such as Blackburn, return a single Member of Parliament. Where this is the case, a link from the constituency article to the corresponding town is more useful to the reader than a link to a disambiguation page. TreveX 12:20, 2 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Layout of Election Results

[edit]

This is very confusing as each section goes newest to oldest so there is no continuity between sections. These pages used to be great but the new table layout is absolutely dreadful and causes this kind of disconnectivity. 92.19.233.199 (talk) 18:53, 11 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User 92....., I agree with you about the tabulated layout being dreadful, and I would fully support you changing it to the stand alone blocks. Given that this is a current constituency, I suppose the more recent should be higher. Have fun with it. Graemp (talk) 21:11, 11 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
