Silly PMC, just what were you thinking aboot, eh!? :P :: DarkLordSeth 02:41, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Oh, remind me some time to finish the Megatokyo article? I've been WAAAY too busy with MMORPGs again lately to wrap it up properly, which would also explain why I'm still awake at this time... Also, I got involved in the cleaning up of 4chan, go take a look in that article and... well... help me clean it up please? There's already something going on, request for cleanup and stirring up a general riot in that article's talk page... :) *yawn* Good night! :: DarkLordSeth 04:54, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I just noticed... :o I was browsing the 4chan talk page when I saw my own signature with a blue link. I wondered for a second why it was blue and out of curiousity, clicked to see what was hidden behind it. Cheeky! Anyways, you managed to vandalize a blank userpage, I'm impressed! :D :: DarkLordSeth 05:09, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

You're evil! You vandalized my talk page too! How could you? Have you no shame? :( Oh, the humanity! *sob* :: DarkLordSeth 05:18, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Oh yeah, about my user page... It's just that I don't really have a clue what to put there, hence why I pretty mucht left it empty... Any suggestions as to what to write down there? :) :: DarkLordSeth 05:21, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I tried once... Didn't save it because I didn't get past two or three lines. I'm really off now, I'm exhausted! Leave me a message or two, 'kay? :) :: DarkLordSeth 05:29, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Okay, wrapped up things regarding the Megatokyo article, how'd you like it? :) :: DarkLordSeth 14:04, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Maybe we could expand the Megatokyo characters section a bit? Would a simpel pic from the comic per character be a good idea, along with some basic non-spoiler description? Also, we still need to unlink Miho Tohya and Ping-chan and put 'em up for VfD. Still no idea what to write for a User page, though! :: DarkLordSeth 19:53, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

There aren't colour pics available of all the main characters though. At least not representative and high-quality colour pics. On a different note, after scouring fredart for a while, I've come to the conclusion that looking at a few dozen pics of a guy imagining himself to be a girl is... Damaging... My brain... Medic! :( :: DarkLordSeth 20:23, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Take a looksie at Megatokyo characters and tell me what you think of it! :) :: DarkLordSeth 21:48, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Now we just need to beefen up the content a bit, maybe make it sounds a little less fannish and more professional review...ist? Something like that, you probably understand what I mean. Also, I just noticed that the The Sims 2 talk page ended up on top of my watch list and after a bit of poking around, I saw it was YOU who replaced the repairwomen with prostitutes! What version of The Sims 2 do you have, anyways? :P :: DarkLordSeth 22:01, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)
A cup of coffee for PMC!

Mweh at being overtired. Have some of this stuff! It works great! :P :: DarkLordSeth 22:22, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Oh, btw, finally made up some sort of a user page, go take a lookie! :: DarkLordSeth 13:43, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Merry Christmas to you too, silly! :D :: DarkLordSeth 21:07, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Yes, very silly! :P Happy New Year already, hun! *huggles* :: DarkLordSeth 17:56, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

*falls over due to the savage poking* Cheeky little girl :P *covers you in maple leafs* :: DarkLordSeth 21:47, 9 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Vandalism would be if I'd inject any nonsense into your userpage or would intentionally damage it. I just wrote down what I observed ;) Granted, it's prolly POV but it's a user page; it's the factual correctness that matters most! :P :: DarkLordSeth 20:20, 23 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Hope you don't mind it either... Just like to tease you around a bit :) :: DarkLordSeth 21:13, 23 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Well, you can disagree with me all you want but I still think you're cute! :D :: DarkLordSeth 09:39, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Thank ye, lady PMC, for editing the anon modifications to my user page. Even though they were quite harmless... :P Anyways, you into playing RPGs? Online ones? :: DarkLordSeth 01:29, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Well, I was curious because I saw you worked on the RuneScape article and thus assumed you we're into RPGs. And, I happen to know a Canadian private server to one of the more popular MMORPGs. Thought maybe you'd enjoy an online RPG so I just wanted to know if you would like to have some more information about the online RPG I have in question. And tabletop RPGs rock, actually! I wish some people around here played them; they are so much more better then CRPGs, but no one around here plays them. Or plays them seriously, that is. :: DarkLordSeth 12:44, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, I tried table-top RPGing as well a few years ago. Was pretty much unfun because the others weren't very serious nor amusing about things. The characters were moronic and the storyline... Well... What storyline? Anyways, gave up on that after a few weeks and not I'm stuck in MMORPGs, raah! :D :: DarkLordSeth 19:43, 3 Feb 2005 (UTC)

PMC! PMC! Where art thou, PMC? Wer bisto? :: DarkLordSeth 17:21, 2 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Awww, you poor thing... Pissed of les parents big time, somehow? Anyways, feel free to vandalize my userpage again, I dare ya :P :: DarkLordSeth 18:27, 2 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mweh, that bites... And because of that they restrict net access? Laaaaaame... Tell your parents that Seth thinks they're lame :P :: DarkLordSeth 20:55, 3 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ye olde past bits of PMC goodness!

January 15 Seattle meetup

[edit]

Just wanted to let you know we are planning another Seattle meetup on January 15, 2005. We're trying to get a sense of who will attend, so please drop by that page & leave a note. -- Jmabel | Talk 07:05, Dec 23, 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for your interest in the Seattle meetup. I went to the last one, and it was interesting to meet people whom I had previously met on line. I live in Richmond myself and would support the occasional meeting in the Vancouver area and in the Portland area, but for practical reasons most will probably be in Seattle.
I have a 14 year old son (soon to be 15), and one of his presents for Christmas will be the recent book by Dan Appleman, Always Use Protection, A Teen's Guide to Safe Computing. If you asked your parents for a copy it would be a great confidence builder. In a short section about meeting on-line acquaintnces there are three recommendations:
  1. Talk to your parents before arranging to meet.
  2. Don't give out personal information, but meet in a safe public place. Let friends and family know exactly where that is ahead of time.
  3. Bring your parents to the first meeting, or at least a friend.
Since attending the meeting would involve driving from Vancouver to Seattle, and crossing the international border having your parents bring you at least to your first meeting would be ideal. Most friends and families of Wikipedians think we are all nuts, and would be bored to death by staying for a full meeting. Having them stay for a few minutes for the introductions, and agreeing to meet them after the meeting while they go shopping or whatever could be a safe way to proceed. I've gone and refactored Wynn Baronets to conform to our standards for such articles. Please have a look. Mackensen (talk) 05:40, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I went ahead and de-listed it, and I'll copy the discussion to the talk page. Mackensen (talk) 05:55, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Runscape splitting

[edit]

Sorry, I didn't see your message on the talk page until a little while ago. However, I still feel that breaking it up was the right thing to do. It was already 36kb long and that's with an unfinished quests section. There is a point where an article becomes too long for someone to read through comfortably. Ofcourse, I don't know what your rewrite is like.

It might work as a single article if those sections just listed the items, with one line descriptions at most. The skills are somewhat self explanitory. If the split off articles end up as fancruft, then maybe such a detailed description isn't needed anyway, but trying to put all that stuff in one article would just make it bloated. An encyclopedic entry on RuneScape doesn't need all the intricate details. By putting them on seperate pages, it's there if the reader wants to know more, but doesn't get jumbled up with the other more general info.

Anyways, feel free to drop a line on my talk page. --Aqua 09:14, Dec 27, 2004 (UTC)

  • That's a great idea. It'll keep everything organized without anything getting out of hand. We also already have an article on the Kalphite Queen. However, there is already a Runes of RuneScape article. Not sure if maybe this should be moved to your suggested name so we can have the same naming convention for them. Hopefully I didn't mess up your rewrite by splitting that article off. I've leave the rest alone for the time being. --Aqua 04:44, Dec 28, 2004 (UTC)
    • Alright, thanks. I was just looking at the "what links here" for RuneScape, there's alot more location articles than I had thought. --Aqua 05:25, Dec 28, 2004 (UTC)

Congratulations, PMC!

[edit]

Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Cecropia | explains it all ® 07:37, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • AAAAAAHHHHH!!! May Eris have mercy upon us all! *runs away screamming* :P :: DarkLordSeth 12:39, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • You better! Or... else... *waves a spanking twig around!* It's especially for use against Canadians... It's a maple tree twig! Woot! :P :: DarkLordSeth 23:13, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Yeah, what DarkLordSeth said: Congratulations, well done! --fvw* 12:44, 2004 Dec 28 (UTC)

Wow, never saw that before...

[edit]

First off, congrats on the adminship. What a way to start off huh? first the vandals and now this.

So, an anon takes a fairly lengthy article and reduces it to not much more than a stub. It does seem well intended, his/her way of "cleaning up" the article(took the notice off), but this is definately way too bold, especially for an anon with no edit history, no previous work with the article.

I believe the policy on such drastic rewrites is to create a subpage, have everyone contribute/comment on it there, and only replace the origional article when a consensus is reached. So maybe revert and put the anon's edit on a subpage, awaiting consenus(although that might be difficult with the amount of anon contributions to that page). Also leave a note on the talk page explaining what happened, and how his edit might have been too bold.

However, since you are also doing a rewrite which I'm sure will be much better, I question wether preserving this edit is really neccessary beyond just being a formality. Wikipedia is not paper and I don't see that reducing articles so drastically w/o consensus is in the spirit of wikipedia. I would definately vote not to have his version replace the origional.

  • Just a heads up. I think that anon might be pissed that you reverted his edit. Recent vandalism was by an anon with an IP that traces back to the same isp. He even tried to be (somewhat)subtle about it. Pretty funny read though. --Aqua 00:26, Jan 3, 2005 (UTC)

Heads Up

[edit]

Hey-o! Thanks for the heads up about the move on the Great Big Sea (album) page. I was wondering what to name that in the first place, I can't believe I missed that. Oh, and thanks for the welcome too! =D [[User:Consequencefree|Ardent]] 00:10, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Congrats

[edit]

Hey hey, congrats to being promoted to admin. ^^ I didn't see it, for some reason (well, I generally haven't been checking Wikipedia *that* much lately), otherwise I would of course have given you my full support. :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 13:56, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)

It's me. The 65.25.75.111 user on the Blood page.

More anon trouble

[edit]

217.44.59.71 has posted huge blocks of test to RuneScape, RuneScape locations, and RuneScape skills. All of this text comes from rune hq so it might be a copyvio. Even if it isn't, he posted all the stuff verbatim from the site, half the time in the wrong place. Either way its gonna take alot of cleanup. I guess I could go ahead and try to confirm that it's not a copyvio. Any ideas on where to go from there if it's not? --Aqua 02:43, Jan 26, 2005 (UTC)

Well, if it's copyrighted any you don't have permission to use it or can claim fair use it's a copyright violation. You can't just take someone elses copyrighted work and take paragraphs of it verbatim just because you would've wrote something similar. Its the same reason you can't make a copy of your textbook and give it to someone else.
If it is copyvio, we'll have to revert it. If it's not, we can still rewrite it but we'll have something to work with. --Aqua 07:24, Jan 26, 2005 (UTC)

New outline for RuneScape

[edit]

Looks pretty good, but maybe the game overview should come before the history. The Events/Unique things could be moved under game overview and named like features or something.

I'm also not a member, and I haven't played in awhile so my stuff if mostly old info. Luckily RuneScape hasn't changed that much since then(f2p).

I noticed that you included the template in the intro. I had actually intended for the template in the current form to only be applied to the split off articles in order to tie them together, just in case someone really wanted to read everything wikipedia had to say on the subject. The main article would simply have links to those subarticles in the proper places, ie with a paragraph in the main article summerizing the article to give the reader an overview of the subject covered in it.

Last thing that I want to mention is that about the fansite/clan thing. I'm not sure that listing clans here is totally in line with wikipedia policy. They aren't really encylopedic and have individual links (instead of linking to a directory of all of them) kinda implies that wikipedia supports them. And I agree about the only reasonable size fansite thing. Wikipedia is not for advertisement.

Anyways, good luck on it. --Aqua 05:20, Jan 29, 2005 (UTC)

PS. about the copyright thing, guy hasn't been back or replied yet, so I think it's safe to say it wasn't used with permission. Probably best not to include any of that stuff, most of it was too detailed for the main article anyway. Some of it might of been of use on the others though.

  • By clans I was actually talking about the external links, but I see now that you did that already awhile ago. Disregard that last point then. --Aqua 08:07, Jan 29, 2005 (UTC)

Northstar

[edit]

Hey again PMC, I noticed your edit to Northstar a page I have watchlisted but have been to busy to bother fixing yet. Anyway, my comment is that your edit summary De-bold quotes. Why are they bolded? In fact, do we really need so many quotes? Fixed a few other errors. contains at least one comment more suited to the talk page. Few will read those comments in the edit summary. Just a friendly thought, as I've seen other users get chewed out for exactly that. [[User:Consequencefree|Ardent]] 09:25, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Megatokyo Talk

[edit]

D'oh! /me makes a resolution to either use gender-netural pronouns, or look up the people me talks about. But, maybe you should go back and see if the Talk page could bear some further pruning- I woulda took out more, but since I didn't participate or write the original page, I didn't feel justified in doing so. -- Maru Dubshinki

'Page-move', eh? I've never heard of it, but sounds useful. Thanks! -- Maru Dubshinki

Father of Confederation

[edit]

PMC, I don't understand why you are sending Father of Confederation to the Canadian constitution page. Please stop! The old redirect was better, and if someone started a page on actual Fathers of Confederation, all that would need to be changed is the one redirect.... Fawcett5 03:33, 13 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Critical Response in Meteora Article

[edit]

Hello, I was wondering about what your source was for asserting that Meteora received poor critical response from critics. I ask this primarily because it appears to contradict the rest of the section when it lists several entertainment companies, most of whom gave it excellent, good, or average reviews.

Just wanted to let you know that I responded on my talk page(I'm not sure whether we're supposed to alternatingly post on each other's pages, or post just on mine or yours). Also, I just wanted to let you know that the quote on your user page from Voltaire is a misattribution. Btboy500 17:11, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)
