[edit]

For anybody keeping track, I made an error in my edit summary. All I did was move an apostrophe, but I figured I'd state here that I described where I moved it to incorrectly when I made the change. That is all.

watcher in x-men

[edit]

i don't even remember when it was, and maybe it's not that important, but a watcher is included in the x-men animated series.

Celestials

[edit]

Since the Celestials conduct there experiments on behalf of the Abstracts, does that make the Watchers the enemies of the Abstracts? For some reason I dont imagine the Abstracts having enemies.

Female Watchers

[edit]

Just removed this: "All known Watchers appear to be male (it is unknown how the species reproduces — or even if the species continues to reproduce at all)." There was a female Watcher in Quasar and mention of a Watcher family in the last few issues of the first volume of Hulk.--StAkAr Karnak 12:52, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

who watches the watchers?

[edit]

I have read this comic several years ago and can't remember who watches "the watchers". Not the Celestials due to having conflicting agendas.

There was an "Aril Fool's" edition of the original What If...? comics subtitled "Who Watches The Watchers?". It had things like "What if... Ant-Man fought Galactus?," "What if... Dr. Doom was a pediatrician?," and "What if... Sue Storm were the Visible Woman?" Dr Archeville 00:52, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of things

[edit]

First off, I am removing the comment at the bottom of this article that states that "Aron is the best name in the universe;" it's obvious vandalism. Secondly, don't the Watchers abide by a certian set of rules (i.e., Not interfearing with the watched races, not revieling their existance, exc)? And what happens when and if one of the Watchers goes so far as to break this oath? There should be a section directly on this, seeing that I'm not to familiar with the Watcher world. 209.247.5.142 08:27, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Antiphon

[edit]

In Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus #2, a flashback to the beginning of the Marvel Universe showed a group of "proemial gods" (contemporaries of Galactus). One of them is "Antiphon the Overseer", who bears a strong resemblance to the Watchers and, the role described for him (observing the universe, but forbidden to act) also closely matches the Watchers. He's only briefly mentioned in that book, and I was wondering if there were any other references to the character that would officially establish (rather than merely imply) a connection to the Watchers. 71.203.209.0 06:59, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:EarthXRecap.JPG

[edit]

Image:EarthXRecap.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:49, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The image Image:FF48.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Why did we get rid of the section on the Watchers' capabilities of observation?

[edit]

I mean, isn't that the PRIMARY raison d'etre for their existence and the number one thing that they are known for?

Before anyone here forces me to go back into virtual reams and reams of Additions, Edits, and Removals in the "History" section, should I assume that some sort of massive Edit War occurred and it was all wiped out? I read this Article once, a long time ago (okay, "only" about 4-5 years ago), and that section used to be in the article.

To me, not detailing (within reason) the Watchers' special powers observational powers would be much like having an Article on Bishop or Havok or Cyclops, but listing under their "Powers and Abilities" section just a generic blurb like "Emits Energy."Thanos777 (talk) 00:59, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Powers and abilities" section

[edit]

There's a "citation needed" tag, which can be eliminated because the answer is available from an authoritative source: the "Official Handbook Of The Marvel Universe" (OHOTMU), issue 12, page 11, dated from December 1983. You can view this issue yourself online at -- https://readcomiconline.li/Comic/The-Official-Handbook-of-the-Marvel-Universe/Issue-12?id=78029&quality=hq#1

I have no idea how to integrate this into the article, so I leave that to someone more skilled. Thank you.173.27.50.201 (talk) 13:11, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
