This is the official seal of the city. Even though I put "logo" in the filename, are you sure it can actually be considered a logo, and a copyrighted logo at that? GPHemsley 10:37, Oct 9, 2004 (UTC)

No it's not a logo, sorry. I was reading too quickly. It probably should be PD. BrokenSegue 11:29, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit]
  • I know I used the word "logo" in its title, but I'm not sure that the Inuyasha Logo is an appropriate use of Template:logo. It is definitely copyrighted, but most of the other pictures that use that template seem to be corporate logos, and that is all that Wikipedia:Logos discusses. [[User:JoshG|Josh | Talk]] 18:48, Oct 9, 2004 (UTC)
    • hmmm... i'll ask the template creator what he thinks. Good point. BrokenSegue 02:59, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)
    • Okay ur right...I'll change it back. BrokenSegue 03:01, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)

logo vs fairuse?

[edit]

Hi, a quick question. Why did you change Image:BART logo.png back to {{fairuse}} after having changed it to {{logo}}? It does seem to fit well into the logo template. Thanks. --ChrisRuvolo 07:22, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Yes, I went through all of my changes to look for images which I missclassified. The logo category seems to be for corperate logos. BART seems to be a government function(the logo comes from a .gov site). I searched the BART site and the copyright notice says, "The BA logo and the BART train are registered trademarks of the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART). BART trademarks may not be used in connection with any product or service that is not BART's, in any manner that is likely to cause confusion among customers, or in any manner that disparages or discredits BART. Other products or company names mentioned herein may be trademarks of their respective owners." I wasn't sure whether it really should go under the logo category so i defaulted to fairuse. Please change it if I'm mistaken. BrokenSegue 14:15, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)
If it is a registered trademark, I would consider it a logo. I don't think that the policy on logos is limited to for-profit companies only. I don't see any reason not to consider it a logo. Its not like it is a state seal or flag or the seal of a government department. It is the logo that goes on their trains and their publications. It is meant for identification, so I think it should fall into this use. Of course, this is just my opinion. You're welcome to change it either way. --ChrisRuvolo 18:18, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I'll ask Neutrality his opinion...he made the template. BrokenSegue 20:23, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Waking Life not animation?

[edit]

I find it odd that you say Waking Life is not animation, but you say, The entire film was shot using standard film and then a team of artists using computer drew stylized lines and colors over each frame. This is the very definition of rotoscoped animation, is it not? It's rare, but it's been around for a long time and it most definitely falls under the scope of "animation." Do you also believe Bakshi's American Pop is not animated? Garrett Albright 01:32, 21 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Suncoast

[edit]

Hey BrokenSegue! I know about Suncoast because I went there. I just thought it should go into the great world of Wikipedia. Curtisf14 19:16, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

I graduated in '04. Do you go to Suncoast? Curtisf14 22:28, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

AIW and ADW

[edit]

I noticed that you're a member of both the Association of Inclusionist Wikipedians and the Association of Deletionist Wikipedians. Certainly there's no rule against joining both, but don't you feel that that's a bit of a conflicted position? Factitious 07:47, Oct 27, 2004 (UTC)

Speedy deletions and notability

[edit]

Non-notability alone is not cause for speedy deletion. For the article CKNW-AM, I'm not even inclined to list it on votes for deletion, but you're more than welcome to. Cool Hand Luke 07:52, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Sorry about that...I thought there was a policy against radio stations. I must be mistaken. Thanks. [[User:BrokenSegue|BrokenSegue]] 12:52, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Updated "hide me from watchlist" bookmarklet

[edit]

I've updated my "hide yourself from your watchlist" bookmarklet. It should not have the bugs you told me about now. Please try it out and let me know. It is here. Thanks for the feedback! JesseW 10:38, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)

US Elections

[edit]

<<and I no longer enjoy life. For more on my life see this[us 2000 election results table]>> Are we to assume from this you were disenchanted by the 2000 election results? I'm guessing you call yourself a South Canadian now? Only Kidding. You're disappointed by the results of this election too I guess, though? (Please post on my talk page if/when you reply.) dpen2000 21:54, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)
