All you say about Environment is:

current issues: widespread use of slash and burn agriculture has led to deforestation and soil erosion

While slash and burn agriculture is a problem its not the cause of deforestation, that was caused by the Indonesians during the war who got rid of all the tree cover so they could fight the FALINTIL Guerillas better. Also a major cause of deforestation today is that all cooking is done over open fires and many families make a livelihood by cutting down the trees and selling them. The CIA Handbook is not very good for East TImor and should not be relied on.

Someone find out the percentages for land use?
