Returnees from Operation Squatter

[edit]

A number of reliable sources indicate (contradicting Haskew) that there were 22 (or 21) returnees from Operation Squatter (rather than 22 killed or captured). (I call them "returnees" rather than "survivors" because some of the captured survived. Probably clearer to say that there were 43 (or 44) killed or captured.) https://www.specialforcesroh.com/index.php?ams/operation-squatter-number-one.27/ https://www.nam.ac.uk/explore/special-forcesWW2 https://rommelsriposte.com/2013/08/29/first-operation-of-the-special-air-service-sas-squatter/ https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/08/27/exhausted-filthy-but-unbowed-the-birth-of-the-sas/ https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-15742158 https://web.archive.org/web/20111120080309/http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-15002563 (click boxed text 4) Henin (talk) 22:25, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
