any thoughts on renaming this First Manchu invasion of Korea? and/or possibly combining the two articles into Manchu invasions of Korea? Appleby 23:37, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm down with it (the move, not the merge). I've always thought that this and Second Manchu expedition to Korea were two of Wikipedia's most oddly-named articles. "Expedition"? It certainly wasn't a journey undertaken for "exploration and/or research." -- Visviva 10:51, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think Jeongmyo horan means "invasion on the year of Jeongmyo". Can anyone confirm this? Deiaemeth 04:25, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

right, the jeongmy is the year, and "ho" means northern barbarians, and "ran" means anarchy, unrest, rebellion, etc. Appleby 07:00, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see. Thanks! :-] Deiaemeth 08:35, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Han Bannerman Li Yongfang participated in the invasion
