Names as author

Since both Julie Andrews Edwards and Julie Edwards are versions of her married name wouldn't something like "her married names" be preferable to "the pen names"? Mcljlm (talk) 15:44, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Citations

Windeler appears as a citation 8 times: "Windeler (1970)" the first 6 times, "Windeler" the 7th and lastly "Windeler, Robert (1998), Julie Andrews: a life on stage and screen". The article should indicate if these are different editions of the same book or different books. Mcljlm (talk) 03:50, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Paternity

The 3rd sentence of section # 1 Early life is "Andrews was conceived as a result of an affair her mother had with a family friend. Andrews discovered her true parentage from her mother in 1950,[8][9] although it was not publicly disclosed until her 2008 autobiography.[10]". Since [9] is the 1970 Julie Andrews, a biography by Robert Windeler, whose cited pages are at https://archive.org/details/julieandrewsbiog00wind/page/20/mode/2up, it doesn't relate to the 2008 disclosure. I haven't been able to see [8] but since it's the 1989 Julie Andrews: A Bio-Bibliography by Les Spindle I assume it doesn't either. [10] is a 2008 paywalled NYT article (whose title differs from that in the reference). Wouldn't it be better for the references to be to her autobiography Home: a memoir of my early years, the source of the information in the NYT article? Great American Mousical

Hi. I'm Wikipedia admin, mostly inactive these days. I'm also an actor IRL, and I just finished performing in The Great American Mousical at Legacy Theatre in Branford, CT, directed by Julie Andrews. This was the second full production of this play, based on the book of the same title she wrote with her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton. Julie also directed the first production of this play at Goodspeed Musicals' Norma Terris Theatre in 2012.

I think this play (both productions) is worth a mention in this article, but since I have an obvious COI I won't add it myself. (Someone else can add {{Connected contributor}} to this page.)

I suggest the following wording, to be placed towards the end of the "2000-present" section of the article:

Andrews has twice directed a musical stage adaptation of The Great American Mousical, based on the 2006 children's book she wrote with her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton. The musical was written by Zina Goldrich (music) and Marcy Heisler (lyrics), with book by Hunter Bell.^[1]^[2] Andrews first directed the play for its premiere in 2012 at Goodspeed Musicals' Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Connecticut.^[1] In 2024, she directed a second, sold-out production at Legacy Theatre in Branford, Connecticut.^[2]
