No Album Reviews

[edit]

Does anybody else feel that a review of the album in the article is misplaced? Shouldn't the article be from an NPOV? The author said that they tried to be as unbiased as possible, but an album review is just that, it is a biased statement on your opinion. Please make it clear why a review belongs in an NPOV article. --Cumbiagermen 04:20, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've just deleted the review parts... its really not necessary. Fan reaction can be mentioned within the article, if the opinion is notably agreed upon by many people. Professional reviews can be quoted too to further such opinions. The quote about "My Man" with Mary J Blige and Big Boi could work, if it provided a source from a notable reviewer.
I have left this line, however, since I understand there are a fair number of people who do feel this way, thus making it a notable fan opinion: "This has led to some fans rejecting Santana's recent releases, feeling that he is abandoning the Latin and extended solo based nature of his earlier work in favour of commercial appeal by putting his name alongside current artists." Still - I would like for someone to present a counterargument of why others would feel they welcome this change, within the article, to keep it more NPOV. Having been mostly introduced to Santana with his Supernatural era stuff for the most part, I can't really think of one myself, heh (being unable to really "compare" the two sides).
