Why exactly do you need a *template* for a simple link? I'm trying to standardize the ((flag - country)) templates to ISO codes, and for that, I'd need the  India template. Is it absolutely necessary for your needs to have a template for that? Nightstallion 20:20, 19 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What's wrong with you using something else for this one? You should have expected naming conflicts. --SPUI (talk) 13:41, 20 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but in this case, the {{IND}} template is the only naming conflict, and apart from that, all other templates correspond to the ISO codes, which really makes things easier for people who want to use the templates. Would it be a problem for you if I changed your template to {{IND-subway}} or something like that and took care of all pages you used it in, so that there is no additional work for you? Nightstallion 11:05, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Alternately, they could be replaced with [[IND (NYCS)|]]. --SPUI (talk) 18:16, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect! Thanks a lot. I'll change your template to {{IND (NYCS)}} then, as well as all pages referring to it. Thanks again! Nightstallion 19:14, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I think I got them all. I'll change {{IND}} to the India-Flag-template now. Thanks again! Nightstallion 19:51, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Um! I would suggest going through the What links here page before declaring victory like that. --CComMack 20:04, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
That is, in fact, exactly what I did. The problem with "What links here" is that it continues to list pages that once had the template in it, but no longer do. I've had that problem before. To the best of my knowledge, all instances of the template in subway context have been replaced; if I did do something incorrectly, it'd be nice if you'd explain it and point me to the pages I missed. Thanks! Nightstallion 20:42, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I just went through all links in "What links here" again, and did find two instances I'd had overlooked. The other links just point to pages with the NYCS template in it, which seems to be an error in wikimedia software (it seems to assume that the NYCS template still contains the old IND template).
