Do you think we should create a disamb page for this page. I know there are plans that are called rosettes, but lately, I have been seeing small pins, also called rosettes, that is awarded with several medals. Zscout370 (talk) 20:20, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

It wouldn't hurt having a separate page that explains (and ideally illustrates) what a rosette is when used with medals. The Medal of Honor article isn't as helpful as it could be. Rl 20:33, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I agree, but I just wanted to use that page as an example (since it has a picture of the rosette. Plus, how should I name the medla rosette page Rosettes (medal)? Zscout370 (talk) 20:40, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I suggest you either use Rosette (decoration) or Rosette (ornament). Rl 21:07, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I will move it to decoration, since there are ribbons at county fairs that use rosettes for awards. Zscout370 (talk) 21:59, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Rosette - Plant cell wall structure

[edit]
There should be a page for the structure called Rosette that is involved with the production of cellulose in plant cell walls.

Why is this article called Rosettes and not Rosette, anyway? Am I missing something? Rl 07:26, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Political rosettes

[edit]

What about the rosettes that election candidates wear when electioneering? At least here (the UK) they're very common - the majority of candidates will wear one while campaigning in the street - but I can't find anything about them in any of the existing articles. Award ribbon has the right kind of rosette in terms of design (the bottom picture), but it's not really an appropriate term for these as they're not awards. For those in countries where they don't exist, these are an example of what I mean. 86.132.138.205 13:35, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This should really be somewhere - but does anyone know where? And if it's not here already, where it should go? Blythwood (talk) 08:38, 5 May 2015 (UTC) Now added a short section into the decoration article. Blythwood (talk) 09:32, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rosette - Stringed instruments

[edit]

A rosette is the name give to the circular decoration surrounding the round sound holes of many acoustic guitars, and ukuleles. They are sometimes decals, but often they are inlays made from contrasting woods, mother-of-pearl, abalone shell or some other decorative material. Cgreaves (talk) 17:01, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
