Overlap with singles articles

[edit]

Although there has been some slight trimming, and the addition of the "Main article" links, there is still a very large overlap in the material presented in the "Singles" section and that in each of the articles for the singles themselves. I don't see the real benefit when all the detail on these songs is one click away. I'm not even sure a section called "Singles" is required. If there is something to be said about songs that were not singles, fair enough, maybe in a section called "Songs"? All this duplication just makes the article bloated for no good reason. • I added the singles section, because I considered that people would visit more often the main page of the album, and not so much the singles, so I decided to add some background of the singles themselves, I agree it was too much info, so I removed some info and added the links to the main page of the songs, but do you think we should remove that section completely? Info4allthepeople (talk) 17:55, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As the singles all have articles of their own, I think the section should be removed or, at least, pared down to the bare minimum. I'd be more interested to see a summary of the songs that were not singles - that information is not available in other articles. Martinevans123 (talk) 17:55, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I will try to dig up some info on the non-singles, if I can't I will remove info from the singles section or remove the section completely. Info4allthepeople (talk) 23:51, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. One of your later edits removed the paragraph about "Sepia" which was apparently sourced to Price (1999). Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 08:57, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think the article looks in much better shape now. But I'm surprised you've remove some songs altogther! Even if you personally don't consider them notable, provided they are supported by a WP:RS I think they could be included. After all, unlike the singles, they are not discussed anywhere else at all in the encyclopedia. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:27, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think I should include all songs? Don't want the article to become very hard to read and too long, I can try pairing up the songs though. Info4allthepeople (talk) 19:31, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
So I decided to remove the singles from the songs section, because they have their own articles and I kept the other songs because it has referenced information that is not available anywhere else in Wikipedia. Hope it looks better now. Info4allthepeople (talk) 19:50, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's much better now. Thanks for your efforts. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:55, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
