I found this information pasted onto the end of the article Ian Smith (former Prime Minister of Rhodesia. It most emphatically does not belong there. I don't believe in stubs, but I had to move this info. somewhere. I do not know enough about this person to destubbify the resulting article. I hope someone else can. Hi Ian, Thank you so much for ringing Brian Jewell. Many memories from 'back in the day" When he saw your talent and 'picked you"

SOLE SELECTOR - TOTAL!!!!! - 13 YEARS 6 weeks a year - HE DID @ $30 meal allowance!!!!!!

OH How it is different - BUT BETTER??????!!!!!!!

This is Max Hughes. Jellery's Bro in Law maybe you did not know 'the history" We have met a few times and enjoyed you company.

YOU ARE A GOOD MAN. I Sponsored KUGG'S N.D. great team in the late 90's and played part a part in Doullies and Taitie's life and have many great friends through the 'good game'

We all still fish Rotoiti where I live now.

Do not tell Botham.

You are welcome. - anytime,

Brian is 'out' They gave him 3 months - IT is coming up 11 But it is people like you that do make a difference.

Nola, Des and me thank you for caring.

We all so much enjoy your commentary be it Rugby or Cricket so we thank you - Ian.

Give my best regards to Nis and Quinny and of course 'The Pukekohe Kid' - Doullie.

I played Rugby with both Nis and Keith.

Nis was a very good footballer - Lock but would have been a better No 6. Quinny was 'average'

Then there was Mood's. - I Captained the Wellington First XV and I just had to have him in - He was 14. I do not think people know he played Rugby for Auckland and Bay of Plenty. Very good Crickter too. He spun us to a very rare win over Wanganui Collegate

So thank Ian, for taking time out of your very busy schedule.

Our family really appreciate your thoughts.

Take care Best Regards Max Hughes — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.72.33.17 (talk) 03:19, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rugby Union

[edit]

Has he got any rugby pedigree as I've heard him commentating on All Blacks games and obviously whenever the NZ team are over in the UK playing cricket.Londo06 09:57, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would like to know, but most cricket-rugby crossovers seem to be only about the cricket side of things.--MacRusgail (talk) 17:31, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
